Notarization of Signatures A notary can witness and notarize the signature of any document, attesting to the fact that the signature is that of the person named. Price: $40 (includes everything); $15 for every additional signature notarized during the same visit.
Certification of Documents Copies of an original document can be certified by a notary public to be a true and accurate copy of the original by affixing a signature, seal and statement to that effect. Price: $40 (includes everything); $15 for every additional copy certified during the same visit.
Commissioning Affidavits & Statutory Declarations Any affidavit, statutory declaration or other oath can be commissioned by a notary. Price: $40 (includes everything).
Consent to Travel Documents (for Minors) The Department of Foreign Affairs recommends that minors travelling with one parent have the other parent’s documented consent for such travel. This is also required by the border officials of many countries.To assist us in drafting your Consent to Travel Document, please submit the appropriate information in the Forms link on the sidebar. Price: $75 (includes everything); if you have a document already drafted, we can notarize it for $40.
Letters of Invitation for a Canadian Visitor’s Visa This is a letter that a Canadian citizen or permanent resident uses to invite nationals of countries for whom a visa is required to visit Canada. Affidavit of Identity An Affidavit of Identity may sometimes be used in instances where no other type of identification is acceptable to the requesting authorities. They are commonly used in applications for a marriage licence, or as emergency documentation for travel-related purposes. Passport Applications You may require the services of a notary if you are unable to provide a guarantor for your passport application. You can then make a Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor (Form PPT 132), which the Notary can commission along with certifying your photo and documents supporting identity. Price: $60 (includes everything). NB. If you have lost your Canadian passport, we can help you complete and notarize a statutory declaration to that effect which must be included in the application for a replacement.
Permanent Resident Card Applications You may require the services of a notary if you are unable to provide a guarantor for your permanent resident card application. You can then make a Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor (section G of your application), which the Notary can commission along with certifying your photo and documents supporting identity. Out-of-Province Real Estate Transactions We can assist you with notarizing the appropriate documents for closing a real estate transaction in another Canadian province or US state. Price: $95 (includes everything).
Drafting Affidavits & Statutory Declarations An affidavit is a document setting out a statement or sequence of events that a person (the deponent) swears to be true and correct. A statutory declaration is a solemn declaration authorized by the Canada or Ontario Evidence Act and is used to assert the truth of any fact or facts or of any account rendered in writing. These can be commissioned by a notary. We can assist you with drafting and notarizing an affidavit or statutory declaration for a variety of purposes. Some of the more common requests have included Affidavits of Identity (for marriage or emergency travel), Declarations of Single Status (for overseas marriages), and Declarations of Common-Law Union (for OSAP or tax purposes), among others. Legalization / Authentication Authentication is where a government body certifies that the seal and signature appearing on a notarized document is that of an authentic notary public. This is often required when the document is sent to a foreign country. Legalization involves the foreign embassy certifying a notarized document for use in the foreign country. Embassies will usually require the documents first be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs. Price: Authentication - $100 (includes everything) Legalization - $125 (plus embassy fees)
